I think I’m balanced; can Jin Shin Jyutsu® still help me?

Have you thought about how well you are, or have you just gotten used to feeling ‘OK’ and have forgotten what it feels like to be experiencing “vibrant” good health? Let me introduce the ‘Wellness Wheel’. This wheel can have many spokes or segments in it. Each segment represents one core (essential) element that makes us more well-rounded. To attain and maintain harmony and balance in our lives, we must pay attention to each of the dimensions of wellness. To neglect or over-emphasize any of the dimensions will result in an out-of–balance or oblong Wellness Wheel. Practicing one aspect of the Wellness Wheel more than others causes the wheel to become lopsided and prevents peak performance in all aspects of daily life.

The Wellness Wheel is a similar concept to the Medicine Wheel used as part of an ancient holistic approach to healing ailments of the body, mind, and spirit. The Medicine Wheel explains illness as springing from an imbalance of being. Illness is explained as an imbalance in life and restoring balance and harmony is achieved by examining the elements of one’s life represented by the Medicine Wheel. Jin Shin Jyutsu® also helps to move us from where we are ‘stuck’ in terms of patterns of behavior or beliefs that are holding us back from being fully empowered and leading a vital life. There are several expanded Wellness Wheel dimensions. Let’s explore 6 key ones.

“I went in with pain in my right abdomen and after having a ten minute session, the pain was gone! It’s like there is heat coming from her hands and it feels sooo good. I loved it!” – Peggy B.

How balanced is your Wellness Wheel?

How does Jin Shin Jyutsu® Physio-Philosophy relate to the Wellness Wheel?

Have one or more of these things occurred in your life during the past year? Have you or someone you know:

  • Changed jobs?
  • Recently married?
  • Lost a loved one?
  • Moved to a new city?
  • Recovered from a surgery?
  • Brought a new child into your family?
  • Recently divorced or separated from a long-term relationship?

As we go through life’s challenges and joys, the different dimensions of wellness can fall in and out of balance with some areas in need of more attention than other areas. To assist in moving through life’s ups and downs, Jin Shin Jyutsu® can bring balance to the three core dimensions of our being and the attitudes that influence that harmony.

Jin Shin Jyutsu® philosophy is based around the belief that illness comes from an ‘attitude’ that influences harmony in the body – whether that attitude is fear, sadness, grief, worry, anger, or putting too much effort into life. One powerful tool to keep the body harmonized and rejuvenated is to receive continuing sessions of Jin Shin Jyutsu® on a periodic basis. Jin Shin Jyutsu® benefits ‘well’ people by keeping the body, mind, and spirit in balance. When body, mind, and spirit are in balance, the pathways are vibrating in optimum resonance. Most practitioners have regular sessions themselves and use self-care exercises to maintain their well-being. Jin Shin Jyutsu® also helps to move us through those patterns of behavior or beliefs that are holding us back from being fully empowered and leading a vital life.
