How does Jin Shin Jyutsu® help my animal companion?

dogtouch1Vibration is light, sound, music, and us! Vibration is the invisible energy that is found in every aspect of our life. When this invisible energy vibrates in harmony, the byproduct is health. By balancing our companion animal’s energy, we can facilitate their profound healing capacity, which moves them toward a healthier life. People and animals are both made up of energetic pathways that circulate throughout the body. These pathways can become blocked or dammed up through our lifestyle, injuries, or attitudes. Jin Shin Jyutsu® removes the dams in our energetic rivers. Simple, isn’t it?

Like humans, animals touch their young. Like humans, animals respond and benefit from touch all their lives. Through touch, there is an unspoken level of communication, a bond of sorts where healing can begin. Veterinarian Bruce Fogle in his book, “The Dog’s Mind” states, “Touch is the most important of all the canine senses.” It is natural to touch our animals and move our hands over their bodies. Jin Shin Jyutsu® gives us some powerful resting areas so our hands can restore, revitalize and rejuvenate our animals. This allows for a variety of benefits including realignment of a horse’s back, greater flexibility in a dog’s hips (making jumping on the bed easier), and helping a bird to stop plucking its feathers out.

Through Jin Shin Jyutsu®, our touch is a simple placement of the hands on the designated area of the body. No effort is required. We can relate our hands to the concept of jumper cables: connection is all that is necessary.

Session benefits include: relief from muscle spasms and joint stiffness, rehabilitation from surgery, harmonizing grief related to the loss of a companion, balance of the body after the rigors of competition or training, and overuse of the body, as well as the daily stressors of noise and confinement.

What is the difference between people and animals when receiving Jin Shin Jyutsu® sessions?

The main difference between people and animals receiving Jin Shin Jyutsu® sessions is just this: animals are wide open and receptive to allow the most productive session possible. Animals naturally understand and respond to this non-invasive healing modality. Many times, there is a sense that the animals instinctively know that he/she will feel better after a session and are thankful their owners have made the appointment. When our practitioners travel to stables, the horses remember how great they felt after their last session and will walk to the gate to meet us as if to say, “Thank you for coming back!”.

I think my animal is balanced; can Jin Shin Jyutsu® still help my animal?

Have you ever thought that your pet is just a little sluggish because he/she is getting older? Everyone has their ups and downs, even animals. What difference do you suppose it would make in your animal’s life if there was a way to level out those ups and downs? Animals receiving Jin Shin Jyutsu® sessions ever 3-4 months thrive throughout the aging process.

I rescued my animal; can Jin Shin Jyutsu® still help?

Animals can suffer from stress just as much as humans do. In the wild, some stress is necessary to enable the animal to learn how to survive, defend itself, find a mate, or seek food. With captive or domesticated animals, stress due to a restricted or unnatural lifestyle, boredom, overcrowding, emotional changes, lack of exercise and stimulation, incorrect diet, over-breeding, grief, fear of humans, or abuse will lead to a very unhealthy and unhappy animal. Your animal companion may have suffered from some of these conditions before they came to live with you, so it is good to give energy healing to help it let go of all the negative memories and to strengthen the immune system.

Jin Shin Jyutsu® doesn’t just target specific areas but the whole being of the animal. Treating the whole body at a deep level has a positive effect everywhere and individual problems may resolve themselves… like negative behaviors and physical manifestations for example. The benefits are endless!!

Can Jin Shin Jyutsu® help my animal in their “Golden Years”?

Yes; senior animals benefit greatly from a wellness program including Jin Shin Jyutsu®. Because no two animals are alike, each Jin Shin Jyutsu® session and program for care is tailored to your animal’s specific needs. If you are concerned that your animal is not aging gracefully, ask yourself:

  • Is my animal moving slower after naps?
  • Does he/she have trouble climbing stairs?
  • Has my animal become less playful?
  • Has my animal stopped running?
  • Is my dog/cat having accidents in the house?
