Are there certain kinds of health concerns that Jin Shin Jyutsu® can aid?

Jin Shin Jyutsu® can work with a wide range of physical challenges including chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, chronic and acute pain conditions, back and neck issues, insomnia, and anxiety. It is a valuable complement to western intervention and is especially helpful before and after surgeries. It can help broken bones heal faster and more completely. If you are taking medications while receiving Jin Shin Jyutsu®, it is recommended that regular medical check-ups continue, as it is common for the medication dosage to change as a result of Jin Shin Jyutsu®.

Jin Shin Jyutsu® is a powerful preventative tool as well as an “Art of Living”.  Its benefits to one’s life and health go far beyond symptomatic relief. Jin Shin Jyutsu® harmonizes mind, body and spirit and allows the body to release accumulated tensions. Our western mindset has us conditioned to look for “results” based on our mental concept of what we think “should” happen, however Jin Shin Jyutsu® helps us drop our shoulders and exhale to a place of ease and openness. This letting go of our “shoulds” allows our body to follow its own innate wisdom toward healing. This could mean that an emotional blockage is released before the physical symptoms begin to heal.  The “effects” are often surprising.

Can anyone learn Jin Shin Jyutsu®?

Yes.  One needs only a willingness to learn. A practitioner certificate is obtained by attending three 5 day seminars.  One need not be an “expert” to be effective; it is our touch that delivers results.  Though this ancient art first developed in Japan, it is applicable to people of all ages and cultures. The 5-day Seminars and Self-Care workshops have no pre-requisites; anyone who wishes to understand more about Jim Shin Jyutsu may attend.

Is this something only Key Elements for health does?

How long is an average personal one-on-one session?

The maximum is one hour. In this case more is not better. It is of greater benefit to receive a few one hour personal one-on-one sessions than it is to receive one session that is a few hours long.  Each of us simply needs time to integrate and process the changes associated with the session.  Extremely ill, old, or young require even shorter treatment times.

How do you address my individual needs?

At your first appointment, you and a Key Elements healing arts practitioner will have a conversation about your health history and any current discomfort. Each practitioner will also listen to your pulses, and then choose a “flow” to harmonize the vibrational pathways that are in need.

How often can I have personal one-on-one sessions?

The usual practice is to establish a weekly, bi-monthly, or monthly rhythm.
An optimal way to begin receiving sessions is with three sessions within a 3 or 6 day period.

CAN I EXPAND THE PROCESS? Yes, it is possible to have more than one session a day. Between five to eight hours is the recommended time between sessions.

Will I feel better right away?

The more quickly you can change the thoughts which led to the condition of discomfort, the more quickly you will heal. Clients usually feel deeply relaxed right away, this allows your body to begin to heal itself.

What do I wear to the personal one-on-one session?

You remain fully clothed throughout the session so wear comfortable clothing.

Will I feel any pain?

No. Key Elements for health practitioners’ touch is sensitive to whatever pain you may be experiencing when you begin.

Is this like massage, acupuncture, acupressure, shiatsu, or reiki?

All of these modalities focus on clearing the paths of energy flow. However, each one is different in its approach and its application. Jin Shin Jyutsu® is different than each of them.

Is it safe?

Yes, Jin Shin Jyutsu® is entirely safe and entirely non-invasive.

How did you get started with this?

A life-altering illness led Gail to find Jin Shin Jyutsu®.

What training have you had?

Gail attained practitioner level by taking several five-day training seminars from the instructors chosen by Mary Ino Burmeister, the woman who introduced Jin Shin Jyutsu® to America; and is a certified practitioner through the Jin Shin Jyutsu® main office located in Scottsdale, Arizona. Gail generally takes 2 or more classes each year and has mentored with instructors at the Jin Shin Jyutsu® main office in Scottsdale, Arizona. All practitioners at Key Elements for health are certified practitioners with the Scottsdale office and actively enroll in continuing education through additional practitioner level classes.

Do you use other techniques or modalities?

No, Jin Shin Jyutsu® is the only modality used in the Key Elements healing arts office.

Does it work on animals?

Yes. Key Elements for Animals is a partner practice and gives sessions to dogs , birds, horses, just to name a few. Please see the “Animals” tab located on the home page.

Do you ever travel to someone’s home?

Yes, if necessary. Mileage and an hourly travel rate apply.

What if I need to cancel my appointment?

A 24-hour notice is requested for cancellation with no charge. Detailed office policies are given at the first visit or can be mailed prior to your first appointment.

Why did you choose the name Key Elements for health?

Through the use of the art Jin Shin Jyutsu® each practitioner discovers the key relationships that need to be harmonized in each client. These key relationships may be on various levels, the safety energy locks, organ pathways, or various layers of the body. When relationships between these key elements are harmonious, vitality is restored. Every one of us has the ability to help ourselves and others through the use of Jin Shin Jyutsu® Physio-philosophy.

My loved one has a terminal condition; can Jin Shin Jyutsu® still help?

Yes, not only is Jin Shin Jyutsu® helpful to those faced with a terminal illness but also for their loved ones and caregivers. Jin Shin Jyutsu® can aid in easing tension and allowing the body to relax.

What is the difference between a Self-care workshop and a 5-day Seminar?

Jin Shin Jyutsu® is taught in Self-care workshops and 5-day Seminars.  There are no beginning or advanced classes because it is circular learning, worlds within worlds.  Each time you take a class, you expand your understanding.  Anyone can take either the Self-care workshops or the 5-day seminar, there is no prerequisite.  Although it is not necessary to take a Self-care workshop before the 5-day seminar, it can be helpful.  It is not necessary to take a 5-day seminar at all, as the Self-care workshop is meant to be complete by itself.

The Self-Care workshop will teach you the basic principles and how to “jumper cable” yourself.  It is a practical, hands on class for every day living.

The 5-day seminars are far more in depth for those who want to expand their understanding and practice on others.  You don’t need to want to “be a practitioner” to take the 5-day seminar.  Many people take it to simply gain a deeper awareness of the art and enhance their lives.  Others take it so they can share sessions on loved ones or trade with friends.
